STROLLERS
There will be no stroll in January. Our next walk is as follows:-
25th February 2026 - Creswell Crags
For our February walk we went from the Dukeries garden centre to Creswell Crags. It was a pleasant morning and the snowdrops in the woods were very pretty. 25th March 2026 - Sherwood Forest Meet at 10.00 am at the Carrs car park for car share to Edwinstowe.

Nov 2025
Our November walk was in Thoresby Country Park. It was a very pleasant morning and not too cold. Our stroll took us round by the cricket pavilion and grazing in the field behind the pavilion was a herd of deer, brown and white, many with large antlers. We continued to the bridge over the river and back to the Courtyard which was looking very Christmassy with trees, lights and other decorations. We finished a very pleasant morning with, of course, coffee and cake.
There will be no walk in December.
Oct 2025
Our October walk was in Sherwood Pines. It was a very pleasant morning and our group of 7 had a very enjoyable walk through the woods seeing a variety of interesting fungi on the way, followed by coffee and a chat.
26th November = Thoresby Country Park

Our August stroll saw 8 members visiting Sherwood Forest. It was a very pleasant morning and we enjoyed our walk to the Major Oak where we had a short rest. It was very sad to see the tree with no leaves due to the hot summer. We then continued to the Craft Centre for coffee and a chat.

July 2025
On the July stroll eight members enjoyed a walk in Thoresby Country Park. We had a very pleasant stroll through the woods, down to the river, taking in the path to Perlthorpe Church, then back to Thoresby Courtyard for refreshments. Another very nice sociable morning.

Our June walk was enjoyed by nine members who walked from the Dukeries Garden Centre to Creswell Crags. We had refreshments at the coffee shop before returning to the garden centre. It was a lovely day and not too hot.
23rd July - Thoresby Country Park
Meet at 10.00 am at the Carrs car park for car share to Thoresby.
In May 2025 seven members had a very pleasant walk round Vicar Water followed by refreshments at Rumbles cafe. If you would like a gentle walk, why not join us on our next stroll.

Five members braved a miserable start to the day to go to Sherwood Forest for our February stroll to the Major Oak and back through the woods to the Craft Centre. The weather improved and we had a very pleasant morning ending, of course, with drinks and a chat in the Craft Centre.

The September stroll was from the Dukeries car park to Cresswell Crags. A stroll around the lake, then to the café and back to the car park.

27th November 2024 - Kings Mill Reservoir

Our walk in October took 6 members to Vicar Water for a stroll around both the large and small lakes, followed by refreshments and a chat in the cafe. A very pleasant way to spend an October morning. Why not join us in November (the cafe at Kings Mill Res has a good reputation!!!). Everyone is welcome
