This group will meet on the first Friday of every month at 2pm in the Plough Inn, Church Street, Warsop (opposite the Doctors surgery). We chat and play cards or board games and generally have a pleasant couple of hours.

April 2026

As the meeting for the Friendship Group fell on Good Friday it was decided not to have a meeting in April.   Without more support  from members I feel that the Group is likely to fold.   It is up to you as members to tell us what you would like the Group to be doing, or a new venue, but bearing in mind that The Plough is free of charge and if we moved elsewhere it would be at a cost.   If anyone has any suggestions please get in touch.

Unfortunately the Friendship Group was cancelled again due to low number of members intending to come to the February meeting.   I feel that as numbers have now gone so low that we need to consider whether we carry on or not.   If any members have any ideas on how we might boost numbers or improve the Group I would like them to come forward and talk to me at the next U3A meeting, or if you would like to join the group that would be even better.  Generally we meet on the first Friday of the month at The Plough Inn at 2.00 p.m.  Betty

The Friendship Group meeting scheduled to take pace on the 5th December was cancelled due to insufficient members expected to  attend.   It has been decided that no meeting will be held in January due to the date being the day after New Years Day.   Our next meeting will be the first Friday in February.

The Friendship Group met on Friday, 3rd October when we welcomed a new member to the group.  The next meeting will be on Friday, 7th November at The Plough 2.00 p.m.

The Friendship Group met on the 5th September after a break of a couple of months.   5 members attended and enjoyed an afternoon of cards and a natter.   We would like to see a few new faces at our meetings and if you think you have some different ideas to offer or just want somewhere to spend a pleasant afternoon with friends do come and join us.  Our next meeting will be at the Plough on Friday, 3rd October at 2.00 p.m. 

4th April 2025

Five members of the Friendship Group met on the 4th April to play cards and dominoes and have a general natter on varying topics.   Our next meeting will be on Friday, 2nd May at The Plough at 2.00 p.m.

7th March 2025

The Friendship Group met on Friday, 7th March. two groups of 4 playing a variation of dominoes and card games, some learning new games.   The next meeting will be on Friday, 4th April at The Plough 2.00 p.m.

Eight members of the Friendship Group met and played cards and dominoes in two groups of 4.

6th Dec 2024

The Friendship Group met on Friday, 6th December for an afternoon playing cards and a couple of Beetle games.  It was decided that a meet on the 3rd January should go ahead and will be held at The Plough as usual at 2.00p.m.   Sending best wishes to all for a happy Christmas and New Year.

2nd Aug 2024

The Friendship Group met on for another enjoyable afternoon playing the card games Uno and Newmarket. Six members attended and we also had some friendly discussion on various topics including of course the Olympic Games. The next meeting will be at The Plough on Friday, 6th September at 2.00 p.m. 

1st Nov 24  

The Friendship Group met on Friday, 1st November, when 7 members enjoyed a board game called Harry Potter Sequence.   It was a change from our usual games and I hope everyone enjoyed the change.   The majority of us had not played this before so some concentration was required.   We ended the afternoon with a few games of UNO which was more familiar to all of us. 

The next meeting will be on Friday, 6th December at 2.00 p.m. in The Plough Inn.
